Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, so Shubha is doing something a little wicked. Four courses, £18 a person, Saturday 31 October and Sunday 1 November, during café hours (10:30 to 4).

  • 100% vegetarian
  • Gluten-free
  • Can be made vegan
Halloween Special Meal at Dosa Chaska: pumpkin aloo bonda, a black rice witch's hat dosa, spider web jalebi and Halloween lemonade, £18

The menu

Four courses, made by hand

To start

Pumpkin Aloo Bonda

Crisp potato and pumpkin on a tamarind and yoghurt spider web (plant yoghurt for vegan).

The main

Witch’s Black Pearl Dosa

Our dosa batter made with black rice, folded into a tall witch’s hat and finished with real edible silver. With a Mexican twist: smashed avocado, black beans, olives, pomegranate and salsa.

Something sweet

Spider Web Jalebi

Made from our own dosa batter, so it’s gluten-free too, with orange and saffron.

To drink

Halloween Lemonade

Real fruit juice with blackberry and orange.

Photo for illustration. Every plate is made by hand, so yours will look its own.

Questions

Good to know

Can I change my mind?

Yes. Cancel by 8pm the evening before your meal for a full refund: email hello@dosachaska.com with your order number. After that we’ve bought and made everything, so we’ll give you a credit voucher instead. If we ever have to cancel, you get a full refund.

Is it gluten-free and vegan?

The whole meal is gluten-free, including the jalebi, which we make from our own dosa batter. It’s vegetarian, and it can be made vegan: the spider web on the bonda uses plant yoghurt. Tell us in the note when you book.

What makes the dosa black?

Black rice in the batter. No colourings and no charcoal.

Allergies?

Our kitchen also handles nuts, sesame, mustard, milk and other allergens. Tell us in the note when you book and call or email us, and we’ll talk you through every dish.

Do children pay the same?

Yes, £18 for the full four courses.

Can I book on the day?

Yes. You can book on Saturday and Sunday too, right up to 3:45pm, while meals last. Booking ahead is safest: there are only 30.
